"Net-flix and Heal" aims to address generational trauma in the US from a racial perspective to promote healing within and between races as a result of colonialism and the institution of slavery.
It discusses the mental and behavioral health issues arising from this trauma and the ongoing sociopolitical and cultural intolerance in America. The program also highlights the persistent institutionalized racial inequality that hinders true equality today.
This project aims to be a vessel for intimate race-based conversations that are necessary to break the patterns of the past. By doing so, we can collectively embrace and honor our cultural differences through multicultural equality and dismantle the caste system of race in America.
The films selected are bold titles to gain a deeper insight into the development of the American caste system. Being and American descendant of the institutions of colonialism and slavery have significantly contributed to the current collective experiences of anxiety, depression, neurodiversity (ADHD, HSP, ADD, Autism), substance abuse, identity loss, low self-esteem, people pleasing and more.
We begin in August with our first film: "Stamped From the Beginning."
